November Message from Principal Hardin
We have now completed the first quarter of our school year. Staff and students are both settling in and working together to go deeper into content knowledge. Student athletes made us proud both in competition and how they represented what we stand for. Our music students have auditioned and will soon perform for honor ensembles in addition to preparing to amaze us in upcoming concerts.
Throughout the month of October, we have addressed students about items that will help everyone stay safe and feel respected. We asked all students to be safe when exiting our building after school, to use the crosswalks on and off campus, watch out for traffic, and to be aware of their surroundings. If you or someone you know is driving, please; go slow, watch for pedestrians, and give other drivers space and grace. We discussed the need for students to keep hands and feet to themselves regardless of the relationship with the other student, as sometimes even best friends can get carried away. We also continue to work on ensuring that students transition from class to class in an orderly manner.
If your student is struggling in a class or needs a quiet spot to finish homework we can help. We offer the opportunity for students to receive assistance Tuesday through Friday from 2:45-4:00. Students that walk or get a ride may leave when the work is completed, or their ride is here. Busing is available for students that need it with bus stops at our feeder elementary schools as well as some of the larger apartment complexes. All you must do is let us know that your child can stay. As always, thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education.
